Costco, Food for Commuters

With being a college commuter, there is the ease and likewise difficulty of either having to bring your own meal or going out to eat, the cost of which slowly adds up even though it is still probably less costly than living on campus all year. But hey, we all like to save as much money as we can, right?
For eating out, there is quite a nice variety of what food you can eat. The closest and most convenient option is always whatever is available on your collage campus or …

Light The Night Walk

“Walk as if your life depends on it. Walk because someone’s life does.”
Each year, in communities all across the United States and Canada teams of families, friends, co-workers and local and national corporations come together to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS’s) Light The Night Walk events and bring help and hope to people battling blood cancers.
Every Light The Night walker is encouraged to become a Champion For Cures by raising $100 or more to help fight blood cancer.
Funds raised by teams and individual walkers provide:

Goodbye, Borders

Times have changed. The days when we would go to the bookstore to purchase something are coming to an end for many reasons- the convenience of online retailers, the rise of e-books, the economy, management, and ourselves the customers. And so, goodbye, Borders.
As a business, the purpose of Borders is to sell books and their related goods. However, with its cozy atmosphere, more customers (and I am guilty of this as well) came to Borders as a place to browse and relax rather than to shop. Inevitably, Borders filed for …

Have you visited the Merriest Place on Earth?

One of the best places to celebrate this holiday season around Orange County is definitely spending a day at Disneyland. For the past couple of years, Disneyland changes from being the “Happiest Place on Earth” to the “Merriest Place on Earth” with a holiday cheers around every corner of the park. The reason I love coming back during this time of year is because I love seeing everything Disneyland has to offer and that warm feeling you get of happiness and togetherness with the people you go with. I really do …

It’s Officially Summer with the #OCFair !

The #OCFair Is Here!
I love living  in Southern California! We have one of the best climates and SUMMER isn’t complete with the arrival of the Orange County Fair! Year after year the Orange County Fair gets better and better! This year they have amped their speakers with the theme of “The Beat Goes On” emphasizing their continuing support of the Fair Grounds and a great concert series including top performers such as Train, Adam Lambert, and John Legend.
What I love about going to the fair is that it brings a whole community …

Curling – Playing the Olympic Sport in Orange County

Watching the 2010 Winter Olympics definitely got me interested in the niche sport of Curling. I got hooked on it and wanted to try it out myself. Only problem is that I don’t have the brooms, shoes, or rocks, not to mention a curling sheet.
But guess what! Many other people got the curling bug just like I did and started calling ice rinks about the sport and now we can play it in Orange County!
For the newbies to curling, which I would expect it to be most of us, Anaheim …

Sawubona!! Chris Brogan in the OC [followup]

Last night the Vitamin OC crew headed to Chapman Univ. to listen to Chris Brogan speak about social media! As you’ve heard us say before, the Vitamin OC staff is composed of social media enthusiasts and we were really excited to see Chris and get a chance to talk to him in person. Also, for all of those of you that missed the event (and shame on you!!) Michelle used her handy Flip Cam to bring you the lecture on VitaminOCtv.
In his lecture, Chris focused on the human and trust …
