The Japan Green Honor Band returns again this year to be performing in the Rose Parade as well as to host a benefit concert in conjunction with the John F. Kennedy High School Jazz Band.

Mark the end of the field show season with the Savanna Field Tournament. Traditionally hosted on the last weekend of Field Show season, the Savanna Marching Rebels are hosting their 34th Annual Field Tournament this Saturday, November 19. Starting from 9 A.M., 35 bands will be competing throughout the day, not counting the exhibition performance by Savanna High School.

It is the middle of marching band season, and this weekend is the Loara High School’s Band Review and Invitation Field Tournament. From my knowledge, this is probably the biggest band review and field tournament in Orange County, with 39 bands participating in the band review and 24 bands in the field tournament.
The first band to perform in the band review is scheduled for 10:55 A.M. while the last band is scheduled for 2:04 P.M. Awards for the band review will be at Glover Stadium at 3:15 P.M. during a …

Come out for a full day of fun at the 47th Annual Heritage Festival and Parade in Placentia this Saturday, October 15.
If you want to start bright and early, from 6:30 to 10 A.M. is the Chamber of Commerce Pancake Breakfast at Tri-City Park.
The parade starts at 9:30 A.M. and travels from Morse Ave. north on Kraemer to Tri-City Park. There will be over 100 entries—from VIPs, non-profit organizations, clowns, to my favorite, the marching bands.

Marching band season traditionally starts in Orange County with the John F. Kennedy High School Field Tournament. A tradition started by Magnolia High School over three decades ago, John F. Kennedy High School 11th Annual Invitational Field Tournament will be held on Saturday, October 8 at Glover Stadium in Anaheim. Named the “Preview of Champions,” local marching bands from around Southern California come to showcase their talents. This year, the field tournament will be showcasing 25 high school’s band and color guard units.

It’s all a part of Theatre Communication group’s FREE NIGHT of Theatre program.
