“Let’s Eat!” at the 2011 OC Fair

For those of you who haven’t had the chance to visit the OC Fair this year, this weekend is your last opportunity until summer next year rolls around.

On weekends, the fair runs from 10 A.M. to midnight. Admission is $11 general, $8 senior 60+, $6 child 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. However, since this is the last weekend, admissions will only be $2 if you enter before 11 A.M., so wake up bright and early this weekend to take advantage of this opportunity to save.

Parking onsite is $7 per vehicle and $12 for preferred parking. If you want to save on parking, there is free offsite parking available on weekends at the Experian parking structure off the Bristol Street exit of the 405 freeway, and there is a free shuttle that operates from 10 A.M. to 1 A.M. Plan ahead for parking since the fair draws a huge crowd, but either way, I’m guessing both parking lots will be equally crowded.

Have a blast at the OC Fair, and make sure to wear a lot of sunscreen to protect your skin in the heat!

If you miss this year’s OC Fair, look forward to next year’s fair, “Home Sweet Home.” Unfortunately, I haven’t attended the fair since 2008, and I am looking forward to next year’s fair. Expect an article about the OC Fair again from one of us next year that will hopefully include some of our personal reflections on the event as well.

To those who attended this year’s fair, share us your photos and reflections! To those attending next year’s fair, I look forward to seeing you there!

In the meantime while we wait for next year’s fair, there is a theme contest allowing community members to be a part of the 2012 OC Fair’s theme design for the first time. For more information and guidelines on the contest, click here. Best wishes to those who enter the contest!
