I am always very excited when So Cal Action Sports Network (SCASN) announces their monthly events. They always bring the best industry leaders to speak  and provide an open platform for networking. The staff of VitaminOC and I are huge fans of Bryan Elliot and what he is doing with SCASN and we cant wait for this week’s.

What is the SCASN?

In case you did not know, The So Cal Action Sports Network (SCASN) is a group of  group of professionals who are interested in top lifestyle brands and retailers in the action sports, fashion, retail and beverage industries. You can read our detailed post about SCASN HERE. Or you can visit their website- www.socalactionsportsnetwork.com.

A couple of months ago, through SCASN, I was able to meet one of the people I look up to the most in Social Media- Chris Brogan! (read about it HERE) Last month, Patrick, Michelle and Jorge attended the event with Rick Calvert, a founder of the Blogworld Expo, which we’ll be attending this October!

Brian Solis

This month, Brian Solis of PR 2.0 and co founder of Social Media Club will be the keynote speaker!! I am very excited, not only because I am a reader of his blog, but also because for the past year I have tried to meet him in person 3 times and have failed in all of them. I know that sounds a little weird, but I have been trying to attend events that Brian Solis was speaking at or appearing to get a chance to say hello to him. If you are into tech and social media, I  invite you to go to his blogs- PR 2.0 and bub.blicio.us to see why I am so excited about this event.

In addition to Brian Solis, the event also features an awesome panel featuring the Honda Brand team – Automotive & Powersports Division, Lauren Kozak – Social Media Manager for Britney Spears, Action Sports power-agent, Amy K. Stanton with triple threat pro surf, skate and snow athlete Chanelle Sladics, and NetSpray, a new and innovative web teool and tecnology!

If you are interested in attending, you can find more info and register HERE. The cost is $25 and you should have some sort of relevancy to the Network to attend. Let me know if you will be there! Also don’t forget to hashtag your live tweets with #SCASN.

STUDENTS!  You can attend this event for FREE by joining the So Cal Action Sports Network University!  To get in free, all you have to do is volunteer and help with the execution of the event!  We’ve volunteered at two events so far and it’s always been simple, fun, and a great way to meet people in the industry!  If you’re interested, join the Facebook Fan Page and email Patrick Tomas at patricktomas@csufpbl.org to sign up as a volunteer!  As part of the SCASN University, we’ll be volunteering at the X Games Celebrity Golf Tournament next week so sign up ASAP!
