Have you ever wanted to run a 5k or 10k? But you never had the “motivation” to do so, how about the chance of winning $1,000? Yes, Top 3 overall finishers in 10K at the City of Cypress 5k & 10k Run/Walk for both male and female will win a monetary prize. 1st place $1,000, 2nd place $500 and 3rd place $250.

Registration is ongoing until Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 11:59pm, for the competitive race it is $35 to enter, however if you would like to just walk it and not compete, registration is only $20. Please register here.  If you would like to pick up your registration early, you can on Friday, July 24 from 4:30-7:30pm at the Cypress community Center, 5700 Orange Ave. Cypress, CA 90630.

Along with this run/walk event, there will also a Cypress Community Festival you don’t want to miss out. For those who would like to cheer, support and celebrate with your runners this event is from 9am-5pm just one block from the finish line!   It has entertainment, food, chili cookoff, Kiwanis pancake breakfast and children’s area.

Check-in/ registration will begin at 6:00am-7:00. The 5k/10 race starts at 7:30am. Parking is free, but it is advised to come early. Good luck all competitors and get ACTIVE.
