So, my Kogi BBQ story of the day…last week, Yvonne, Valerie, Jackie, and I went to the Dove Launch Party, hosted by BellaSugar, representing vitaminOC at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood!  Afterwards, we decided to grab some Kogi BBQ at the Alibi in Culver City!  The wait was super short – 15 minutes max and we were outta there!  As we walked down the block back to our car, a guy said, “Thanks Ladies!  Enjoy your food!” And I casually said thanks and waved it off…until it hit me, “OMG, it’s Chef ROY!” I turned around immediately and had a total NERD moment, “OH!  Are you Chef Roy?!  Wow, uh, err…thank you so much!  Yeah, see you soon!”.  Yeahh…that was special.  ANYWAYS!

You may have heard that our beloved Kogi BBQ was banned from Orange County (at least, temporarily) a few weeks ago.  The closest they’ve been is Santa Fe Springs, which isn’t too far, but I’ve got some news that’s WAY better….

KOGI BBQ POOL PARTY!

Well, sort of at least.  Let’s all bow down to the Holiday Inn in Costa Mesa!  Those smartie pants’ figured out a way to bring them down here, despite the lack of proper permits for their typical street parking type of situation.  Aside from the cost of your food and beverages, this event is completely FREE!  So here’s the 411:

Kogi BBQ will be at the Holiday Inn in Costa Mesa from 12pm – 3pm this Saturday – June 13th, 2009.  And this time, regardless of how long the line is, you can finally follow Alice’s advice and crack open an ice cold beer (if you’re 21+!!!) while you wait because the Holiday Inn will have a bar, open to serve you in the parking lot!

In addition, after you get your nomilicious food, there will be seated dining and drinking areas in the parking lot and by the pool (as seen above!). There’ll be some awesome entertainment, a LIVE STEEL DRUM, poolside (perfection!) and a few sweet giveaways including several:  2-night weekend stays at the Holiday Inn Costa Mesa, 2-night weekend stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, San Jose, and 2-night weekend stay at the Fairfield Inn, Anaheim Hills!
