Tranquil Tea Lounge is going to open in Downtown Fullerton this Friday! The vitaminOC team and I have been super excited and we can’t wait for it to open.

Tranquil Tea Lounge is owned by brother and sister, Jon Munsayac and Michellee Phelps. The lounge will be a cool place to try their selection of over 85 different varieties of loose leaf teas as well as a place to dine, buy tea accessories, attend special events, or hold your own there as well.

I was able to meet them a few times while they had their booth at the Brea Market and check out some of their tea. They had a lot of teas out and I really liked the smell of their Fiji tea, which also happens to be their most popular one.  Michellee was super awesome and gave me a tin of the Fiji tea to try out. Excited, I went home to try it out but didn’t really know what to do with the loose tea since I’ve usually used the bagged versions. My first instinct was to drop some of the tea in hot water and wait and that’s what I did. I don’t think it came out the way it should have.

The up-side of this whole situation is that in addition to being a cool place to go for tea, Tranquil Tea Lounge will be a place where you can learn about it too. I’m definitely going to have to learn what to do with those leaves! (The back of their business card has tea steeping times, so I would recommend picking one up!)

Tranquil Tea Lounge’s Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is tomorrow June 5 at 4 PM!!! We’ll be there for sure, along with a ton of other OC peeps. Comment if you’re going to head there as well so we can meet up over a cup of tea!
