Far*East Movement at Cantina Lounge TONIGHT!
Lucky us, Far*East Movement is coming to Cantina Lounge tonight! What? You don’t know who Far*East Movement is? Here, take a listen…
I saw FM at Cal Poly Pomona about a month ago and they were amazing performers! Not at all what I expected, especially knowing that they’re an all Asian-American group! (woo woo, represent! It’s API Heritage Month!) Members Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif, and DJ Virman (yes, it’s THAT DJ Virman, from Power 106!) bring the hype like no other! These boys take the stage with full force and hit you hard with a blast of energy, defining that new “fresh kid party genre”. Their album hasn’t budged from my CD rotation since I saw them live…I think I’m a fan! (Fan is not a term that one can take lightly!)
Oh, and if my whopping 2 sentences about FM didn’t convince you, here’s a few words from Brian Tee:
“A Far East Movement… FM has created a style and sound that is unmatched by any performer on the scene today. They achieve the ultimate blend of hip hop flavor and soul with their original beats and lyrics that touch audiences on a personal level and entertain them on a social one. Their vibe and approach to their music are downright fun as well as inspiring.
What I love about FM is their originality. FM’s music, with every track, has its own identity which sets them apart from other musicians. Far too often I hear the same music blends within an artist’s narrow range, but FM has just that… range, to take their music to another level, that I find as entertaining as a fan.
The guys of FM are the most authentic, passionate and talented, as well as all around fun guys, that I have met. It comes to no surprise, that when I listen to their songs, they share these same qualities of themselves within their music. It is no wonder that their vibe, beats, lyrics… music are so cool. They are the epitome hip hop class, while achieving the essence of soul within their music and themselves.
FM’s talents and music transcend far beyond Asian America but tap into the domestic mainstream, hitting international levels and beyond… They truly are a movement.” — Actor/Producer – Brian Tee
