Twitter “infiltrates” CSUF?

I was in a study room in the library with Patrick and Jackie this afternoon, just browsing this Monday’s Daily Titan.  First, before I say anything further, you must know that the three of us are huge social media enthusiasts.  So when I flipped to the centerfold, the word TWITTER caught my eye right away.

Avenue Q at OCPAC
It seems that everything I write about includes something that is at least a little bit taboo, or something that involves breaking laws. This review is no different. I mean, who can resist watching Lucy the Slut perform on stage?

Follow up: So Cal Action Sports Network Meetup

 

On  the afternoon of March 26th, the Vitamin OC staff  and CSUF Phi Beta Lambda went to the Oakley Headquarters in Lake Forest to volunteer at the  Chris Brogan meet up-hosted by the So Cal Action Sports Network.
As we approached the building , we were in awe of the unique architecture of the Oakley building.  We couldn’t decide whether it looked more like a spaceship or a CIA secret hideout that you only see in the movies.  The inside of the building was even more intriguing. Fan Strong.

5 years, 4 American League West titles – the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (or just the Angels lol) are opening their 2009 season TODAY with four games against the Oakland A’s and 2 games against our all time enemy -the Red Sox during the weekend!
Their new motto, ” Fan Strong.” really sums it up for us die-hard Angel fans that are coming into the new season thinking, ” here we go again, ANOTHER American League West Championship and no World Series wins” lol.

Calling All Jazz Cats!

Interested in having a day full of FUN?  Fullerton College is hosting the 37th annual Fullerton Jazz Festival this weekend!  The festival will host many local high school jazz bands and professionals from the LA & OC vicinity. This is the perfect venue for them to showcase themselves with the mentality of continuing their music profession to STARDOM!

Each jazz group will be judged according to:
Their selection of music
Their interpretation of different styles of jazz
Harmony
And  SOLOS!

Can a Fullerton Councilwoman Walk and Talk at the Same Time?

Starting this Saturday, April 4th, Fullerton Councilwoman Sharon Quirk will host her “Walk and Talk” sessions in an effort to meet with local residents and address any of their concerns while walking with them for one hour in a park.
There will be a total of four walks, each of which will be held in different areas of the city.  The first one will be held in tomorrow at 8:00am at Craig Regional Park.  Participants are told to meet at the park entrance, and to wear comfortable shoes.

Mega Bubbles!

Discovery Science Center will be hosting BubbleFest starting April 4-19, 2009.  Fan Yang, a sixteen-time Guinness Book World Record Holder and Bubble Scientist, will be performing his “Mega Bubble Show”!  Fan Yang has been on television networks all around the world and has performed in New York City.  Yang’s amazing artistry is “stunning and world-renowned”.  Yang’s performance will include a bubble carousel, bubbles within bubbles, smoking bubbles, spinning bubbles, bouncing bubbles and bubbles in all shapes and sizes!

View the Stars at UCI

2009 is the International Year of Astronomy and in celebration, the University of California, Irvine Observatory is holding three consecutive visitor’s nights open to the public. On April 3-5, from 7-9 PM, the UCI Observatory is free to explore.
You can look through their 24″ telescope to view the beautiful celestial bodies of the night sky, by that I mean look at some of the planets, constellations, and star clusters. In addition to looking through telescopes, there will also be a different lecture about astronomy every night:
