I’m not exactly your typical gay guy — or your typical guy for that matter. I don’t know much about sports or cars, and up until my 21st birthday, I would have believed that the “LV” on the Louis Vuitton bags stood for Las Vegas.

Fast cars, fancy living, and high fashion are definitely not my forte. But wait, isn’t that what the OC is all about?

A proud former Titan and Cal State Fullerton alum (Class of ’06), I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, with a minor in Computer Science. Now a local high school math teacher, I find myself encouraging students to constantly learn new things and to challenge themselves daily.

As a writer and photographer for VitaminOC, the same goals apply. I encourage the readers to join me in learning together and seeking new ways to challenge ourselves.

Although Orange County is often characterized by its glam, fortune, and high living, I see the community from a different perspective.  I enjoy running, hiking, swimming, and other outdoor activities, so I hope to explore and share some of the great natural beauty that Orange County has to offer.

I also see the current struggles of the gay lifestyle and queer culture that exist in Orange County, and hope to also bring to the spotlight local queer issues, interests, and news to those readers interested, as well.

I am always excited to share my passion for photography, along with my explorations and randomness in the OC that everyone can take advantage of. If you wish to learn about me, my interests, and my random thoughts and adventures, follow me on Twitter, or my Tumblr at justintolentino.me.
